About
Written for people who read to the end.
Jotted Paper publishes long-form essays for people who still read past the headline, and who would rather understand one thing properly than skim twenty.

Origin story
It started with one person who couldn’t stop asking why.
I’m Aaron Marshall. I’ve always been the one who chases a question until it gives up an answer, then wants to tell someone about it. Jotted Paper began as a place to share that curiosity with people who feel the same pull.
It has grown into a small community. Every essay starts with something that sparked curiosity in someone on our team, and ends with something worth passing on to you.
Our one promise is simple: we won’t let you down. Every fact is checked by a person before it goes out. If something is uncertain, we say so. If we get something wrong, we correct it.
If you’re the kind of person who reads to the end, you’re already one of us.

How this place works
Four rules we don’t break, even when breaking them would be easier.
No algorithm decides.
Topics are chosen because they are worth thinking about, not because they are trending this week.
Sources over vibes.
Claims get checked, and the sources are linked so you can check them too.
Nothing gets dumbed down.
You are smart and the writing assumes it. Complex ideas get explained, never flattened.
It’s ready when it’s ready.
There is no posting schedule. An essay goes out when it is finished, and not a day before.
What we write about
Six rabbit holes. Start with the one you already fall into at 1am.
“Most of what you know, you never checked. This is where we check.”
Nothing worth reading arrives on schedule.
But when it does, you will want to be there for it. The reads worth your time, nothing more and nothing less.
We’ll drop you a note when something good is out.
